The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon

The Aztec people believed that gold and silver represented the excrement of their gods. These huge riches stood at the basis of numerous adventure films, such as the Canadian film “The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon”. These thesauruses stirred a lot of interest in treasure hunters, but most of these treasures still haven’t been discovered.

Three hundred fifty years passed before any information was brought to life as far as the long lost Aztec treasure was concerned. Even then, a treasure hunter’s story seemed like a fantasy as the treasure hunter claimed that he had made it alive from the Grand Canyon. On the 8th of September 1867, James White was reaching the shore of Mormon of Rioville, an agricultural settlement. This would be where the rivers Virgin and Colorado unite their flows. James White had built a ship out of a few logs and started travelling. If this is true, then this was the first journey a non-indigenous had ever taken to these lands.

White was in a critical condition when the Mormon people found him. It took him a few weeks to remember the story of his adventure. He had left to discover the West side of Colorado. His team had been attacked by the Indians somewhere near Grand Junction, he being the only one who succeeded in getting away. When he reached the first waterfalls, his partner died and he remained on his own in the middle of nowhere. He stopped in a cave, where he found a lot of golden artifacts. Gigantic golden idols, silver masks and different gold weapons adorned with precious metals could be seen everywhere, this being the great treasure of the Grand Canyon.
