The Gold Elixir

Since the Chalcolithic age, when gold was discovered for the first time, it became more and more desired. Pharos loved it during lifetime but also after death. They believed that if they were buried wearing a mask made out of this metal they would become gods. Many cathedrals and castles are adorned with it and all kings and queens have crowns and scepters made of the precious metal. They also wore gold Armills as a proof of wisdom and sincerity. Cleopatra used to sleep covered in it to preserve her beauty but also her wisdom.

Nowadays people still love gold as much as in the past and they feel attracted by it for many reasons. Some of them love the power this precious metal gives them. They feel that investing in it is a safe choice for their business or to preserve their wealth. And they are totally right since it is the only way one can gain even in times of recessions. It is even said that the yellow metal is becoming the strongest currency in the world. Some analysts believe that it would be better for the global economy to go back to gold standard.

Gold is like an elixir for many people. Some just love wearing jewels made of this metal because it looks fantastic. The way it shines, its color is very attractive for them. Most famous precious stones are mounted in fabulous gold jewels, because of the metal’s high quality. Since this doesn’t tarnish and it is very malleable it can be molded into very intricate designs.

Since it has been a symbol of gods and many idols were made out of it in the past, it inspired the idea of divinity but also of power. People think that wearing gold jewelry can bring them luck, the same way for Feng shui it represents positive energy, also called chi. Nevertheless it indeed brings good luck since many people see the advantages in buying gold.

Collectors are also drawn by the yellow metal’s elixir. Most of them collect coins, but also jewelry. The fact that in spite of its malleability it is very resistant made coins extremely valuable. Not only the numismatic area finds it very attractive, but also the fashion industry. This is why many famous designers use it to create extremely appreciated jewelry, but also clothes.
