Realtor Training - How You Can Promote Using Facebook and YouTube

Most traditional Realtor training on marketing may not serve to set you apart from the rest of the real estate agents in your area.

Unique Selling Proposition

What makes you unique? Why would prospective sellers or buyers want to choose you over the numerous other Realtors? Are you getting smothered by all the other Realtors trying to make a name for themselves too?

While studying for your Realtor license, you may have learned the ins and outs of how to function as a Realtor, but I dare say that outside of business cards, flyers, yellow page ads, and obtaining referrals you might not have received extensive marketing training as part of your Realtor education that is outside of the “norm.”

Social Media Can Be Your Best Friend

Other businesses are effectively promoting on the Internet these days. Why not you? Social media has brought on new ways of getting your name out there. Through mediums like Facebook and YouTube, prospective clients have the chance to not only get to know you as a professional, they can get to know you as a person.

Facebook Information

Currently, Facebook has 350 million active users. More than 700,000 local businesses have active Pages on Facebook. More than 3.5 billion pieces of content (web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photo albums, etc.) are shared each week. 50 percent of Facebook’s active users log on to Facebook in any given day. The average user spends more than 55 minutes per day on Facebook.

It’s a shame that there are no Realtor classes on how to tap into the market on Facebook. However, you can use Facebook to build relationships with people. You can network with people both in your local area and anywhere in the world for that matter. You never know when someone may need your professional services.

YouTube Information

People are watching millions of video a day on YouTube. In fact, YouTube is getting so much attention and traffic that Google acquired it in 2006.

The user base on YouTube typically ranges from 18 – 55 and is evenly divided between females and males. Fifty one percent of users go to YouTube weekly or more often, and 52 percent of 18 – 34 year olds share videos often with friends and associates.

In Realtor school, you may have learned how to show a property. Take that same concept and convert it to video!

YouTube Tips

You can post video tours of properties you are selling. You can post videos of you giving advice to sellers and buyers. You can post videos about what makes you unique as a Realtor. Again, going back to promoting your unique selling proposition. You can post personal videos so people can get to know you are a person.

Different people resonate with different people. You will be amazed at how much rapport you can build with others through the power of video on YouTube and relationships established on Facebook.

Learn how to tap into the promotional power of Facebook and YouTube. You will be impressed at how effective these vehicles can be at establishing your personal Brand as a Realtor folks will want to do business with over and over again.
